Happy Black Friday everybody!
If you were brave enough to tough it out to the mall, Wal Mart, Target for those deals- Good for you!! If you were like me, who you couldn't pay enough to do- Smart you!!!
So today was a busy day for me. We decided to start painting our living room, bathroom & daughter's bedroom. After a trying time getting through Lowe's to get everything that we needed (new lights, paint, lightbulbs, etc.) we got home and got things going.
I got the outside decorated for Christmas and as soon as I got done decorating outside we were back inside starting our new projects. We started installing new lights in our kitchen, and started painting all the rooms. By the time we got done with most of the rooms, it was around 10:30 pm. Man, my body hurts!!!!
So here is my food journal entry for today:
Breakfast
Leftover Breakfast Casserole
Mixed fruit
Coffee
Lunch
Bacon Cheeseburger
Mixed fruit
Split 4 ways Bacon Cheddar Fries
Sweet Tea
Dinner
Ham Sandwich
Small chips
4 glasses of water
So tomorrow we are hopefully going to finish painting tomorrow. Wish us luck!!!

Congratulations on starting a weight loss program! I am also trying to lose weight and using the Body For Life plan. I've been reading your posts and thought I would share a tool that I have found to be very useful (and free!).
ReplyDeleteOn the livestrong.com website you can track your daily calorie consumption using My Daily Plate. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY by making me completely accountable for everything I eat. You can set your account up to tell you how many calories you should consume to lose up to 2 pounds per week. You can also track your exercise in the program as well.
In all honesty, I have found that losing weight is about 85% what you eat and 15% exercise. If you are on a treadmill for an hour you will probably burn 500-600 calories... You can easily destroy that progress with a couple slices of pizza or a cheeseburger. I think about how hard it was to burn those calories and that helps me keep my diet on track. I know I'm not an expert, but I have lost 24 pounds in the past 3 months, and that is mostly because of a change in my thinking and the way I approach food.
If you decide to join livestrong.com, please friend me. My screen name is dawndeluca. Keep going! You can do this!
Hello, I plan on starting Body for Life in January and carefully combed through the Champions edition of BFL this week in preparation. This past year I lost 40 pounds through portion control and I am about to focus on eating clean in the BFL way. While I admire you sharing your story with us, I am concerned because neither your eating nor exercise actually reflect the BFL key concepts. The book recommends 6 days of exercise per week and does not allow for pasta, sausage, etc., on non-free days.
ReplyDeleteI want for you to succeed, and so I encourage you to go back and reread the book. If you find that you're not yet ready to begin in earnest, you can use the free website I used to lose weight: www.sparkpeople.com. On that site there is a great online community and you can continue eating your regular foods in smaller portions.
I understand how hard it is to lose weight because I've struggled with it my whole life. I spent a whole year in the gym wondering why I was GAINING weight even while exercising intensely for an hour a day 4-5 times/week. When I finally grasped the principle of carefully watching my portions then it made a world of difference! I don't want for you to spend a year without losing weight like I did- you can take control now, before a year's time is lost.
Again, I just want you to succeed, and it won't benefit you to think that BFL didn't work in 10 more weeks if the BFL concepts weren't actually being followed. Good luck, you have my support!
