Today is my free day, especially since our family is heading to Raleigh to take my aunt to the airport to catch a flight on Sunday. Renee, my trainer said that trips or vacations are the true test of committing to your workouts & is the toughest challenges because there is so much temptation to make food choices that you wouldn't make at home. I know that it is my free day, and I have a little bit of a break, but playing through my mind is, "Do I go crazy?" and "I have to stay motivated to not take a break." Usually, when I travel (for work or for fun), I have a tendency to completely skip workouts and enjoy local delicacies, and when the weekend is over, I feel terrible that it is so hard to look myself in the mirror.
I really focused on not eating like mad, even though we were traveling. I made our family's favorite breakfast, and since it is Chinese New Year's Eve, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had my favorite dish, & then my husband & I spent time with the kids swimming, snuggling in the bed afterwards watching a movie, and then my husband & I went down to the restaurant in the hotel & had a wonderful & romantic Valentine's Day dinner.
