Hi everyone!! So, as you can see in the title, I almost didn't workout today. In yesterday's blog, I said that I had to work a full day, but I still got a workout in. Today, was real tough.
I was the only person working today (besides my husband of course). This morning, we had planned on going to get up early and go to the gym. Well that did not happen. We overslept!! So, I said, after work (we had patients through lunch) that we would go to the gym. By the end of the day, we had to work later than what was scheduled, and by the time we got done, we had to go home to let the babysitter off.
In my mind, I was feeling the same routine was going to happen all over again. Say that I am going to go workout, but it doesn't happen. My husband and I came home, made dinner and had dinner with the kids & my aunt, and got them into bed. By this time, I am feeling completely exhausted from the busy day, and I just want to take a shower and go to bed. But I couldn't do that. I didn't want today to count as my Free Day (You know, with New Years Eve tomorrow- That is my Free Day!!)
I decided (& did) go into our bedroom, put on my workout clothes, go down to the basement, get on the internet and pull up Exercise TV, and pick out a workout and do it. I picked this workout called, "Rock Hard Arms" by Marco Reed. About 10 minutes into this, I was cussing the screen out. My arms are still shaking even as I am typing this blog entry!!! This guy was ridiculous. He had me doing exercises that I have never done! Now granted, there were some things that I had to modify (I can't do regular push-ups- I had to do the girlie way), and some that I couldn't do (Triceps pushups with your hands on the chair and you are pulling yourself up and down- I did try to do as much as I could, but it got to the point that I just couldn't do them anymore!!)
Looking back at the past couple of days, I am glad that I still pushed myself to keep doing my workouts even if I was tired or forgot to do them earlier. But the one thing that has been tough is getting my husband to do them with me. We have been driving to and from work together (to save on gas), and I have been telling him that he was going to have to come with me to workout. I was hoping to get a "Heck ya!" or "Sure." But it has been somewhat resistant. He needs to workout as much as I do, and at the same time, I need him to really support me through this. But it feels like he is okay with me not working out at the same time. Don't get me wrong- he really wants to see me succeed. He constantly compliments me on the body changes that I have been make, making sure that I take my supplements and so on. But I don't know if he thinks that I am trying to get him to workout, almost forcing him or what. It is really starting to drag me down.
With all of that said, here is my food journal entry for today:
